Please tell us this is leading somewhere.

The obvious conclusion of these 3-on-2 attacks that have left Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo laying in recent weeks is that Rey Mysterio (or his son Dominick) will even the odds at some point soon. Otherwise, the roles of Black & Carrillo could just be played by any jobbers.

Monday, Black & Carrillo notched a win against Murphy & Austin Theory, but they were immediately laid out by Seth Rollins and his charges. It all seems to be a backdrop for Mysterio’s return, which looks slated for next week. The question is, what’s going to come of this?

Is Mysterio going to be the one to stand up to and bring down the Monday Night Messiah, with Black & Carrillo as his soldiers? Because if not, those two just got trotted out there to be human punching bags for Rollins and company, which would be a shame. Monday’s match being ridiculously short didn’t help things with this segment.

Call this a tacit “down” for this week, with hope for next week.
