5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Nov 11)
3. Imperium Makes Its Mark
Yes, Imperium lost their eight-man tag match Monday night. But facing two former world champions and the former NXT Tag Team Champions, it was no sin to lose on Raw.
The NXT UK quartet was likely largely unknown to many TV viewers, but fans in Manchester clearly knew who they were, which helped make their appearance feel bigger. WWE UK Champion WALTER answered Seth Rollins’ open challenge for the United Kingdom’s best, but their match was broken up when Imperium caused a DQ, which led to the eight-man bout.
That match saw the European quartet control much of the match before finally falling when Rollins stomped Alexander Wolfe. You could argue that the NXT invaders “needed” the win more, but the established Raw guys had to win something here, and a guy who knocked off Brock Lesnar twice this year should be capable of besting Wolfe.
