5 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 4th)

5. Bad Product Placement

As a rule, the ongoing in-show commercials for various products on Raw are a bust. It takes you out of the program to see a wrestler trying to sell a sandwich when they should be, you know, wrestling.

But it’s doubly bad when that in-show commercial comes shortly after a segment that made the pitchmen look like serious players. Not long after Enzo Amore & Big Cass saved John Cena from a Club beatdown, the two were backstage hocking Sonic meals to the crowd. The commercial itself wasn’t terrible, but to come after that segment just made things look even more disjointed.

Does anyone actually stop and think about how these things will look in the context of the program, or is it just about the ad revenue, continuity be damned?
