5 Women Who Could Defeat Asuka

1. Nikki Bella

Trust me, my eyes are rolling too, but this is WWE we are talking about. The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak was ended by Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman's undefeated streak was ended by Roman Reigns and CM Punk's record-breaking WWE Championship reign was ended by The Rock. Those expecting a young performer to be given the rub of being the first to defeat Asuka are likely to be disappointed.

Nikki Bella is currently positioned as a babyface but a heel turn further down the line will surely see her positioned as the big bad of the women's division on SmackDown Live. Having Nikki Bella be the first wrestler to defeat Asuka is as depressing as it is frustratingly inevitable, as she will almost certainly do it nefariously. Fans will immediately call 'bullsh*t' on the whole thing.

But this is WWE after all and the hardcore fans aren't the ones being catered to. The Total Bellas audience may well be more important to those who make the decisions than the fans lamenting the positioning of Cesaro. If Asuka joins the main roster before tasting defeat and turns up on SmackDown Live, her fans should prepare themselves for the crushing misery of John Cena's politicking and Total Bellas' ratings.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
