50 MMA Fights You Must Watch Before You Die

12. Rampage Jackson Vs. Wanderlei Silva 2 - Pride 28

While their first fight was a one-sided beatdown, the second fight between Rampage Jackson and Wanderlei Silva was a far more competitive and downright violent encounter. With Silva at the very peak of his illustrious career and Jackson on his own impressive rampage through Pride middleweight division, the two enemies were matched once more.

With over 24,000 fans in the Saitama Super Arena, anticipation for the rematch was at a fever pitch. Jackson did far better in the first round, as the American powerhouse smashed Silva with a right hand that sent him to the canvas. After landing a few knees to Silva, it looked like Jackson was on the cusp of victory, but the buzzer managed to save him from a shock loss.

Although clearly hurt following Jackson's late flurry, the brief break allowed Silva to recuperate enough to be able to mount his own offence against Rampage. After breaking away from the clinch, Silva swung and connected with a crushing right of his own that had Jackson on wobbly legs. Sensing his opponent was out on his feet, Silva grabbed him and landed a seemingly endless amount of knees until an unconscious Jackson crashed into the ropes head first.
