6 Best Second Generation Fighters In MMA Right Now

5. Aviv Gozali (4-0)

One of Isreali MMA's hottest prospects, Aviv Gozali is another of Scott Coker's burgeoning second-generation talents competing in Bellator. Aviv's father Haim Gozali has been an MMA pro since 1998 and is an unmistakable sight during Bellator's events thanks to his collection of questionable Batman-inspired tattoos.

Haim's hopes of progressing to the elite levels of MMA were derailed in 2005 when he was stabbed multiple times while working as a bouncer. Despite this, he has since resumed his fighting career with astonishing regularity for a man who is nearer to 60 than 30.

In his brief MMA career, Aviv has shown that he has inherited some of the grappling skills from his father, boasting a perfect record in four visits to the cage with all victories coming via submission in the first round.

The Gozalis also made history in 2018 at Bellator 209 when they became the first father-son pairing to compete in the same event for a major MMA promotion, ending the night with a pair of first-round victories. Incidentally, Ken and Ryan Shamrock had previously completed a similar feat when they fought on the same card in a British promotion, though both would fall to first-round stoppage defeats.
