6 Booking Steps To The Undertaker vs Sting At WrestleMania 32
The last big dream match from the WWF vs WCW days is finally becoming closer to reality.
Despite neither man having wrestled regularly for well over a year, both The Undertaker and Sting managed to put on pretty great matches at Wrestlemania 31 against their respective opponents, Bray Wyatt and Triple H. It's really no surprise, given the two men's reputation for being ring leaders and workers of a high standard, but there were doubts as to how well they could do on as grand a stage as Wrestlemania. Triple H himself questioned how well a bout between he and Sting could do, given their combined age of over 100. Age is the sole reason that many think that The Undertaker vs Sting either can't, or won't work. Both men are in the absolute twilight of their careers at 50 and 56 respectively, and there's nothing to suggest that these men could put on an event worthy of taking place at the 'Grandaddy of 'em all'. But the sheer intrigue, history, and aesthetic concepts that two of the darkest characters in sports entertainment could provide are the stuff that legends are made of, and a match pitting The Phenom vs. The Icon would be perhaps the most fitting climax to the careers of two men who have done it all. I wrote a similar article after Wrestlemania 30 as to how they should book this match for Santa Clara, but with doubt over Undertaker's physical health and Sting's contract, it's understandable why it didn't happen. With Wrestlemania 32 taking place in Texas - where Undertaker is from and where Sting resides - the stage looks set for a perfect encounter for these two legends of the business, and an ideal platform for both men to gracefully bow out from.
