6 NXT Tag Teams That Everybody Forgot About
1. British Ambition
In terms of the overall number of championships won, Neville is the most successful performer in NXT history, having won the NXT Championship once and the NXT Tag Team Championship on two occasions. The second of his tag reigns is still occasionally brought up, given the prominence of his partner Corey Graves within the current Raw and Smackdown commentary teams - but his first has been well and truly confined to obscurity, regardless of the fact that it was the first one in the brand's history.
Much like the Legionnaires that came later, Neville (then known as Adrian Neville) and Oliver Grey were seemingly paired up solely on the basis of their shared British nationality. They won the championships in a tournament made up solely of makeshift teams (with the exception of the Wyatt Family).
The duo never actually made a title defence, nor did they even compete on television together following their victory due to an injury suffered by Grey. Bo Dallas would step in to fill the void, but he and Neville would only have their hands raised on one occasion before they dropped the belts to Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
Whilst Neville and Dallas would go on to dominate NXT as singles competitors, Grey was never given another opportunity following his recovery, making just three brief appearances in early 2014 before being released, his previous success with Neville unacknowledged in any of them.
