6 Observations From Attending WWE Survivor Series Live
1. The Shocking Finale
After long, drawn out entrances and Goldberg chants it was time to get down to business. Returning hero Goldberg was announced second while Brock Lesnar was billed from Minneapolis, Minnesota (not Saskatchewan). The interesting WWE 2K17 build had left fans frothing at the mouth over this fantasy match up in what was sure to be a classic match with both competitors looking to erase their Wrestlemania XX debacle.
A big shove, two spears, a jackhammer and three count later and the beast had been vanquished. It was a truly shocking moment and left the fans unsure of how to react. There was cheering for Goldberg after the jackhammer but a feeling of disbelief at the lack of kickout. Due to the length of the match many fans had not even sat down from the entrances and initial big moves. Coming on the heels of an exhausting spot filled, 53 minute survivor series match including most of the main event scene this match capped off a solid pay per view with an incredible in person experience. As droves of fans made left the arena they were debating what they had just witnessed and sounded genuinely satisfied with the show, just as I was. Hopefully the next big show in Toronto is less than a decade away, but whenever it occurs it will have big shoes to fill.
