Most fans knew that John Cena vs. The Undertaker would go down in some shape or form. Whether it was 'The Deadman' or 'American Badass' answering the 16-time World Champion's challenge, something was going to happen. WWE wouldn't have gone to all that effort without delivering a payoff, but the one we got was something few could have expected.

'Big Match John' was absolutely battered last night. He looked petrified from the first bell, and barely landed a single move. In three breathless minutes, 'Taker played his Greatest Hits, running through every crowd-popping signature move, before putting Cena away in just under three minutes.

Fast, exciting, and exhilarating, it was everything that last year's paint-drier versus Roman Reigns wasn't. The crowd had bags of fun with it, too. 'Taker's aura has lost none of its power, even after 'Mania 33's emasculation, and in destroying WWE's former franchise player, he has likely bought enough goodwill for one last dance on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

Hats off to Cena, too: his was a shockingly generous performance, particularly given his lofty status in the company.
