6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (1 Dec)

1. Angels’ Wings Clipped

Bryan Danielson Hangman Page
AEW

The strong build to Bryan Danielson vs. 'Hangman' Adam Page continued as Danielson faced Alan '5' Angels in his home state last night, following on from Colt Cabana losing a tooth the previous week.

AEW did a good enough job of giving viewers the tiniest slither of hope for Angels before feeding him to the meat grinder. This was accomplished in the Road To video and the match itself, with Angels' fightback well-timed against Danielson, who was as dirty and disrespectful has he has been throughout this campaign against The Dark Order. Bryan has no time for Page and his group. He shows this in his words and his work, which is increasingly mean.

Adding the stipulation that Danielson and Page are banned from attacking each other prior to Winter is Coming meant the AEW World Champion was forced to watch as Bryan kept the match-ending kneebar locked in after the bell. Danielson's next opponent, John Silver, tried to be the difference-maker, but Bryan refused to share the ring with the Dark Order's jester, calling him a joke in a brief post-bout promo.

These interactions didn't necessarily add anything meaningful to the feud. Rather, it kept it ticking over, leading the duo down an appropriately similar path. Silver is an interesting opponent for next week, too: one would assume he'll fare better than Cabana, Angels, and Evil Uno did.
