6 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (April 20)
1. The Trilogy Ends
One thing that was notable during this show was that announcers Tom Phillips and Corey Graves made repeated mention of the fact that Samoa Joe was still gunning for Finn Balor's NXT Championship. They put over how Balor merely survived their two previous encounters, and seemed sure that Joe would get another title shot before too long.
Personally, I'd love to see a third match between Joe and Balor, hopefully with a stipulation that would ensure a decisive win. Plus, NXT's roster is looking a little thin at the moment, with Austin Aries and Shinsuke Nakamura the only viable title contenders in the near future. Giving Joe one more shot at the belt not only delivers a great main event, but it keeps him in play longer.
Of course, I'm mainly excited because I'd love to see Joe running wild as NXT Champion. He's had a career renaissance since returning to WWE, and this would be the culmination of stage one. Either way, though, a third match in the series would be the most memorable, and would let the loser make a trip to the main roster.
