6 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (April 30th)

4. Tag Team Feud Hurt By Seeing The Opponents Wrestle

There can be no doubt in the the viewer's mind that Enzo Amore and Big Cass are the most over tag-team wrestlers on the roster. They're funny, charismatic and come armed with a killer chant. For weeks now they've been circling the tag team champs, with their eyes set firmly on the prize. However, Enzo and Cass are not exactly ring generals. Unlike some teams, they can't have a good match with every body they face, and last night their match against their future adversaries Blake and Murphy was something of a dud. The match was short, which was fine, as NXT most likely intended to give the fans a short preview of the main match to come in three weeks, but what was given hardly leaves the fans clamouring for more. The action was workmanlike, unimaginative, with no reason to believe that more impressive physicality is forthcoming. In a sense, with the babyface victory from Enzo and Cass, it feels like we've already seen everything that this feud has to offer, at least from an in-ring perspective. The Carmella part of this angle will escalate, probably with the involvement of Alexa Bliss (as per their backstage encounter) to make a inter gender tag match or two, but it terms of the wrestling match that will cap this whole rivalry off, the wrestlers were somewhat exposed last night, planting doubts in the fans' minds as to whether the bout will have much, if any, spark. Very happy to be proven wrong though.
