6 WWE Booking Steps To True Redemption For Brian Kendrick

3. An Impressive Royal Rumble

After TJ Perkins successfully defends the Cruiserweight Championship in the opening match of the 2017 Royal Rumble against Rich Swann, Kendrick joins a number of other cruiserweight competitors in the Royal Rumble match itself. Little notice is paid to Kendrick in the build up to the match, many assuming that he is merely there to make up the numbers.

Kendrick would enter the match early on, say number four or five, and despite numerous attempts to hurl him over the top Kendrick would last long into the match. Showcasing his never say die attitude and ability to survive Kendrick would go over 40 minutes in the match, before being eliminated with only five or six men left in the match. Who would eliminate him? Roman Reigns of course! (I joke).

The Royal Rumble will represent a good opportunity for the cruiserweights to show what they can do alongside the heavyweights, and Kendrick's most-impressive performance should put him firmly back in the spotlight as the Road to WrestleMania continues.
