7 Completely Unnecessary Times WWE Keeps Kayfabe
6. At The Hall Of Fame
Kevin Nash recently commented that there are only two things in the wrestling business that are truly real: when you win your first World Championship, and when you get inducted into the Hall of Fame. So if that's the case, why did his buddy Scott Hall get inducted as Razor Ramon and give his induction speech in his Tony Montana-esque dialect?
To continue the comparison to actors, this is akin to Tom Hanks winning the Best Actor award at the Oscars for Forrest Gump and then giving his acceptance speech as Forrest Gump.
To be fair, for the most part, the Hall of Fame inductees typically give shoot interviews in their speech; there are only a few exceptions where they didn't break character, Razor being the most recent example.
The Hall of Fame offers the one chance for wrestlers to publicly reflect on their careers. Why use that moment to continue keeping kayfabe?
