7 Matches That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn

1. NXT Championship: Bobby Roode Vs. Drew McIntyre

At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II, Shinsuke Nakamura blasted Samoa Joe with the Kinshasha to win the NXT Championship in the main event. Later that weekend Dean Ambrose defended the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler. Suffice to say the odds on two members of 3MB being involved in those same title matches a year later would have been long.

Jinder may yet lose the WWE Championship before SummerSlam weekend, but the smart money is on his former stablemate challenging for the NXT strap. Drew McIntyre has returned to WWE a different beast, and it is only a matter of time before championship gold is his once more.

Drew and Roode will more than likely headline NXT's third Brooklyn extravaganza, and it will represent an emotional moment of redemption for the former WCPW Champion. NXT itself will benefit greatly from having fighting champion Drew on top.

Defeat to the big Scot will be a great way for Roode's NXT Championship reign to come to an end. 'The Glorious One' is surely destined for the main roster, and the post-SummerSlam season will be a great time for him to make the jump. Some may feel that Gargano vs. Ciampa is the right match to main event the next TakeOver, but I disagree - the championship must take precedence.

NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn should be a barnstorming show whatever the card, but NXT currently has all of the tools in place to make it a truly special event. Roll on August.
