7 Reasons Why James Ellsworth Is Obviously Not A Main-Eventer
1. He Has Potential Elsewhere
With The Brian Kendrick defending his Cruiserweight Championship against Kalisto at Survivor Series, the potential for a double switch of the Cruiserweight division and Intercontinental title is imminent.
Ellsworth has proven that he has all the potential to get the crowd behind him and shift his momentum towards success. Where better a place to do that than in the Cruiserweight division?
While we don’t want to return to a time where Hornswoggle was the last Cruiserweight Champion, Ellsworth feels a little more pure. SmackDown will be a prolific environment that nurtures the division, particularly under the wing of Daniel Bryan. With the complimentary gimmick of Ellsworth, the division will take on a life of its own, in the favourable manner it was intended. Two birds, one stone.
Ellsworth is a cult icon, and will be remembered as such for as long as our generation continues to document his legacy in the form of memes and Facebook tribute pages. But it’s time for him to head on down the ladder, and build on something great from another perspective. It’s not good-bye, it’s just “see you soon”.
