7 Things We Learned From WWE Chronicle: Roman Reigns

1. He's Bittersweet About The Situation

Roman Reigns Vince McMahon Chronicle

When Roman arrives in the arena for his big Raw return, the outpouring of emotion is unequivocal behind the scenes. As you might expect, Reigns' colleagues shower him with hugs and the tears begin to flow freely, the likes of Ric Flair, Finn Bálor, Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey all collaring him in the corridor.

Though the reaction of his backstage brethren was never in question, Roman has reservations about how the fans will respond. He recognises that after years of being WWE's resident boo boy - mostly down to his dirt-sheet definition as the promotion's hand-chosen Golden Boy - he is finally receiving a response befitting both his talent and indefatigable efforts.

Quite rightly, he rues that "this is what it had to take to reach people", but is nevertheless simply grateful to be back. "If you wanna boo me, boo me," he cooly muses. Somehow, we don't think many people will anymore.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
