7 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Tyler Bate

6. Was Inspired By Kane As A Kid

Growing up in Dudley, England, a young Tyler Bate quite clearly soaked up inspiration from some World Of Sport greats. Even watching the WWE UK Title Tournament on the WWE Network makes it obvious that his style comes from a bygone era, tweaked to incorporate modern wrestling ideas.

Names such as Johnny Saint and William Regal himself come to mind, there's little doubt that Tyler's style links to that old-school British way of doing things. At the same time, it makes sense that Bate has grown up watching WWE programming.

Only born in 1997, one of Tyler's favourite performers growing up was the 'Big Red Machine' Kane.

The two wrestlers really couldn't be anymore different, nobody is going to confuse the new WWE UK Champ for The Undertaker's storyline brother any time soon. Still, WWE's official profile of Tyler Bate claims that Kane was a childhood favourite.

Perhaps Tyler loved the mystique of the Kane character, or maybe he adored the fact that Kane has teamed with men smaller than him effectively. Guys like The Hurricane and Daniel Bryan have been able to mix well with the masked man over the years.
