7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2023

6. The Only Choice

Any smart betting man or woman would've put mouth and money on Asuka coming out on top and marching on to a clash with Belair at 'Mania. The clown-faced Japanese stalwart was really WWE's only choice on Saturday, if only because nobody else would've measured up to Bianca.

Sometimes, going the obvious road with booking is the best plan.

Asuka vs. Belair should be a fun addition to either night at WrestleMania 39, although it does come across as lower key for Bianca than her past few 'Mania matches have been. It's absolutely the least-essential women's match confirmed for the card right now, put it that way.

Still, it was lovely to see WWE come through for Asuka and view her as someone who can get the job done when they're in a tight spot creatively. Raquel Rodriguez was the outside bet, but she'll have to wait for her moment. It's coming later this year, at least.
