Is it possible to reset and reignite the fire that was Kevin Owens during his debut year? WWE seems to be trying to find out.

Owens has been on a tear the past month, reverting to his “Prizefighter” persona and just going out and beating people up in a quest to win titles. And Monday night, the KO tour stopped at Mr. Money in the Bank so Owens could beat up Austin Theory.

Theory was out to kvetch about his failed cash-in at Clash at the Castle when Owens interrupted and mocked him for getting knocked out by Tyson Fury, and then for finally finding his first name again. KO provoked a match, in which he battered Theory and finally put him down with a Pop-Up Powerbomb and Stunner, completely owning the MITB winner.

While it’s unclear where this is going long-term, Owens is a guilty pleasure, and seeing him succeed will always get an “up” here. And here’s hoping that he’s destined for a main event slot soon.
