NXT was always going to have a difficult road ahead of itself to top last week’s Halloween Havoc episode, even with three title matches and a possible farewell to a popular act.

But Tuesday’s show was still a good deal of fun. It helps with the bar being lowered (below WWE’s already lower standards) because NXT is more of a developmental brand than Raw or SmackDown. The program gave fans spirited title defenses, a surprise return and potential goodbye to the Creed Brothers, who returned from a successful Raw debut Monday night.

Being NXT, viewers had to expect some goofy Halloween season !*$%, and the show definitely provided a few of those moments, but it mostly worked and kept the really silly stuff to a few select segments involving Meta-Four and the wrestlers who always look like they’re ready for Halloween, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.

If you were new to NXT, there were probably a few moments where you got lost, but there also was some good content to hook you in. Call Halloween Havoc a success for staying true to what NXT is today and not straying too far off in either direction, right down to Noam Dar dressed as Scooby Doo.

Let’s get to it…
