The women’s tag division hasn’t been a huge conversation-starter, but Monday night might have given fans something to talk about.

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler returned for the first time since winning a women’s tag team showcase at WrestleMania 39, attacking Raquel Rodriguez after her victory over Chelsea Green. The duo seemed on pace to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship earlier this year, but an injury to Rousey derailed those plans.

The MMA veterans’ return could signal that those plans are back on track, as they laid out the only healthy tag champ (Liv Morgan wasn’t medically cleared to wrestle Monday night). Morgan and Rodriguez defeated Damage CTRL last week and were poised to take on Green and Sonya Deville Monday before Liv’s injury shelved that match.

Baszler and Rousey would add some star power to the tag division, and having them as champions could bolster the titles a bit if done correctly. Regardless, having the two of them back is a net positive based on potential. How they’re used in the coming weeks will determine if it stays a positive.
