7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (6 May - Results & Review)

3. Valkyria Soars In Raw Debut

When Lyra Valkyria received her call-up to the main roster during the WWE draft, it felt like she had to be considered a “sure thing” as a success.

The former NXT Women’s Champion got her first taste of action on Raw Monday night, defeating Dakota Kai in a spirited fight in the Queen of the Ring tournament. The two traded kicks throughout, with Kai nearly putting Lyra away with a stomp in the ropes that spiked Valkyria. But “the Bird Lady” (Kai’s words) came back and picked up the win, earning some cheers along the way.

The match wasn’t blow-away great, but the victory sets her up to face Zoey Stark in what should be another good match, and then presumably a confrontation with Iyo Sky in the finals of the Raw bracket. If the tourney unfolds in that manner, QOTR could be a great showcase for Valkyria, with Monday being a decent first step.
