"Forget the future, forget the past. Life is hopeless, breathe your last".

That's what the sinister masked figure who showed up via WWE's tron told an impassioned Bray Wyatt during the closing stretch of this week's episode of SmackDown. Hold onto something tight, because this could well be a bumpy ride...but it does demand your attention and deserves the benefit of the doubt for now; it's probably going Undertaker vs. Undertaker or Kane vs. Kane soon though.

Bray's in-person return and promo was the main hook for Friday's show, but Triple H's creative crew did establish a new number one contender for GUNTHER's Intercontinental Title too. WWE also set up Braun Strowman's first proper singles feud since returning, and confirmed that LA Knight won't be playing babyface after all.

Fresh-faced NXT stars showed up as well, and the broadcast went live with a ton of literal car crash drama to keep one of Extreme Rules' biggest rivalries ticking into Crown Jewel (or perhaps beyond). Yep, this was an action-packed edition of the blue brand.

Here's all the good and bad from it.
