7 Ups & 6 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (29 July)

1. Next Through The Forbidden Door Is...

Frankie Kazarian.

'The Elite Hunter' stormed the ring as one of Sami Callihan's partners for next week's six-man tag, getting his hands on Karl Anderson and Kenny Omega in the process. Together with Eddie Edwards, they'll face Omega, Anderson, and Doc Gallows next Thursday.

This was executed perfectly. Don Callis' promo regarding Emergence and the number one contender's Battle Royal was cut off by Callihan confirming his entry into the match, with 'The Draw' announcing next week's main event. Being a top-five speaker in modern wrestling, Callihan was clever here, saying that Omega would never know when he's planning his attacks; he could come from the parking lot, the locker room, the 7/11, or he could hop the guardrail.

Cue Kazarian, who didn't receive quite the pop your writer was expecting, but that's forgivable; it's a limited capacity crowd. They gave him the hero's welcome instead, chanting 'welcome back' as the former SCU member looked caught up in the moment to show a smile.

Although this had already been revealed via spoilers, seeing Frankie Kazarian, an IMPACT legend, back in the promotion was an immense feeling. He only wrestled one match at the post-Slammiversary tapings (next week's match), so it'll be intriguing to see if he's at the August tapings, too.

Regardless, it's delightful news.
