7 Ups & 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jun 11)

4. Too Much Bullsh*t, Too Little Time

Carmella Sonya Devill

As a continuation of Carmella's feud with Mandy Rose, 'The Princess of Staten Island' vs. Sonya Deville was fine. 'Mella lost to Sonya via shenanigans, with Rose's intervention diverting the babyface's attention, allowing Deville to blast her with a knee for the victory. Another setback for the face, and another sleazy win for the heel.

The execution was the problem here. Carmella is much improved and Sonya extremely promising, but they struggled for cohesion in the early stages. There was way too much nonsense for such a short match, too, as while this thing came in at less than four minutes, it felt like Rose was barely resting on the outside. Minute-for-minute, this was one of SmackDown's most overbooked bouts in a long time.

Reaching the right destination is good and all, but you're never going to feel particularly gratified when the ride is this bumpy.
