Making her first appearance since falling to 'The Genius of the Sky' a few weeks ago, Toni Storm collided with the always impressive Zoey Stark on the TakeOver: Stand and Deliver Night 1 Pre-Show.

Kicking things off with a competitive grappling exchange in front of the 50/50 split of live fans and LED screens inside of the CWC - and Mickie James on commentary - it was the recent NXT title challenger who seized control of the contest, pummelling and grounding the fiery Stark for an extended spell.

However, Storm's eventual decision to head to the top rope proved to be a foolish one as the TakeOver newcomer nailed the former NXT UK Champion with a superplex to shift the momentum in her favour. A string of violent strikes followed from Stark before she ultimately pulled off a wicked snap dragon suplex/running knee combination.

The closing stages then saw Storm pull out her much needed big guns, planting Stark with an electric chair and pair of German suplexes as she set the stage for a Storm Zero conclusion. Her adversary had other ideas, though, and quickly rolled up the Mae Young Classic winner to seal the biggest victory of her NXT career.

Sure, Storm has now lost two in a row in one-on-one competition and seems to be lacking any real direction or momentum right now, but a compelling feud opposite Stark could be the spark she's looking for. If not that, then I'm sure the likes of Raw and SmackDown would be more than happy to offer her a new challenge instead. For now though, it looks like Triple H and co. have placed more than a few eggs in their new Stark-shaped basket.
