Say what you will about the Miz, but when he’s on fire on the mic, he’s hard to ignore.

The Awesome One returned from a six-week hiatus Monday night to lay into Roman Reigns who he “allowed” to “borrow” the Intercontinental Championship during his absence. Miz ran down Reigns, noting that the title doesn’t make the champion, the champion makes the title, “and daddy’s home.”

He vowed to steal the spotlight back from Reigns and win back his title, which he held for most of 2017. It was a short but scathing promo on Roman, and while Miz doesn’t look like a huge threat on paper, he certainly made a potential feud between the two 10 times more interesting than it would have been otherwise.

And then he and the Miztourage jumped Roman and company to close out Raw, putting some force behind his words ahead of their IC title match.
