2. Titus Worldwide Going Places?

This column has lamented the lack of direction for talented wrestlers like Apollo Crews, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that a surprise roll-up win in a tag match is automatically a positive development.

Crews’ teammate Titus O’Neil rolled up Sheamus to score a major upset, as Titus Worldwide defeated former Raw tag champs The Bar. The victory came three weeks before Cesaro and Sheamus face Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan in a tag title rematch at the Royal Rumble, and it really came out of the blue. Apollo, while ridiculously talented, hasn’t fared well on Raw, and Titus wrestles far too infrequently to really rate.

So does this victory mean something for Titus Worldwide? Are they “building momentum,” as Michael Cole likes to say? Hardly. At best, they might wedge their way into the Raw tag title match and then take the fall. It’s doubtful that they’re suddenly being build up, and that’s what makes this a negative.
