7 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (30 Oct - Review & Results)
Video packages galore, Judgment Day everywhere, Creeds debut, #DIY reunites.
Go-home shows before a premium live event often give fans a hard sell for the weekend’s event, tying up loose ends and plugging the major matches on the card.
But WWE Raw on Monday night could be described as as much of a reboot episode as it was a go-home show for Crown Jewel. Cody Rhodes sold the hell out of his upcoming match against Damian Priest after a wild, show-closing brawl. All five women competing for the Women’s World Championship gave their closing arguments via pre-recorded videos. And Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins individually focused more attention on their World Heavyweight Championship feud.
At the same time, an NXT standout tag team made their main roster bow. Another former NXT Tag Team Champion duo reunited on Raw to launch the next phase of their careers. The next challenger for Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship was teed up. And Becky Lynch’s next opponent got some shine.
Raw provided plenty of entertaining moments, as it often does these days. But it also had some logic gaps, an over-reliance of video packages, and tried to sell the Miz as a babyface challenger for the IC title. In 2023.
Can’t win them all, apparently.
Let’s get to it…
