Bayley's 223-day reign as NXT Women's Champion came to an end at TakeOver: Dallas thanks to the dominant Asuka. Though Bayley put up quite a fight, the challenger was able to cinch in the Asuka Lock, sapping the champion's strength. Bayley refused to tap out, but before long she was rendered unconscious and Asuka was declared the winner.

Bayley, heartbroken after her loss, delivered a backstage promo that kept in line with her character. Despite her disappointment, she gave Asuka credit for one-upping her, and even though she felt down on herself, Bayley vowed to get back up and try again.

As the cornerstone of the NXT Women's division for the past eight months, Bayley has been instrumental in covering the brand's loss of Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch. It's good to see that, at least for the time being, she's focusing on NXT competition rather than eyeing a jump to the main roster.
