Paige could be next to leave WWE because of her wrestling amor.

Rumors ran rampant one month ago that Paige planned to quit WWE shortly after her boyfriend Alberto Del Rio officially left the organization. Although she will be forced to stick around until at least early 2019 as per the terms of her contract, it seems clear she is trying to force WWE's hand. It may not be long before she is let go by the organization if the past few weeks have been any indication.

In addition to a nagging neck injury, her relationship with Del Rio is the primary reason why she wants out at the tender age of just 24. But she would be far from the first women's wrestler to depart the company because of her life tag team partner.

It isn't always as ugly of a situation as this one appears to be, however. There have been a slew of ladies who have left on good terms to join their significant others on the outside, wrestlers and valets alike. Paige could be the latest addition to this list if she does indeed end up receiving her walking papers.

Regardless of whether they accomplished all they could inside the squared circle or if they finished up their wrestling careers earlier than expected, these seven women all called it quits from WWE due to their other half taking off before them.

7. Layla

The stint of a WWE women's wrestler on average is five or six years. Believe it or not, Layla lasted longer than most. She started with the company in 2006 as part of the Diva Search, won it, and went on to hold the Women's Champonship as well as the Divas Championship over the next nine years.

While she was never the greatest wrestler, she did show incredible improvement over time in the ring as well as on the mic. Rather, she will be best remembered for her dance-offs with the Extreme Exposé, her LayCool partnership with Michelle McCool, and her short-lived fling with Fandango.

After not seeing much in-ring action for nearly two years, Layla announced her retirement from wrestling in July 2015, effectively ending her near-nine year tenure with the company. Not only had she accomplished everything she set out to do inside the squared circle, but she was set to be wed to her fiancé Richard Young, best known to WWE fans as Ricky Ortiz.

Layla's time with WWE was likely coming to an end anyway with the new crop of women coming up from NXT, but it's possible she would have stuck around a little longer if she wasn't planning her November wedding with The Latin Assassin.
