2. Tyson Kidd
Kidd was part of a vanilla tag team on the main roster along with fellow Hart family affiliate David Hart Smith. It was clear he could go in the ring, but he was so bland it was nearly impossible to invest in his matches. It wasn’t until he was sent down to NXT that he really found his groove.
Kidd was paired up with real-life wife Natalya, with an act centered around him being jealous of her success on the main roster. Kidd would throw her in harm’s way, and generally act like a jerk to the lovable Nattie. Kidd developed a delightfully irritating catchphrase, ending his sentences with the word ‘fact!’ He also started to develop a more distinctive look and an arrogant swagger that he took with him when he returned to the main roster. It also helped that Kidd got the chance to showcase his talents in some stand-out feuds with Adrian Neville, and Sami Zayn.
His return to the main roster saw a brief flurry of success as he partnered with Cesaro to capture the tag team championships. Unfortunately, injuries cut his run short and it remains to be seen if Kidd can ever top the heights of his NXT success.
