8 Conclusions From WWE SmackDown (June 18)

3. Cesaro Deserves Better

Talking of people who deserve better, it was good to see Antonio Cesaro in a singles match once more. Tyson Kidd's injury is unfortunate for him of course, but after losing the tag titles it seemed that the pairing had little left to do besides turn on one another.

With Cesaro vs Owens, it felt like WWE were giving us a little ROH invasion. Owens picked up the win as expected, but Cesaro was able to showcase his fine in-ring ability. And uppercuts. It's just a shame that Vince isn't keen, telling Austin on the Stone Cold podcast that Antonio doesn't have 'it'.

Cesaro definitely deserves a more prominent place on the roster, and by and large WWE fans would be pretty pleased to see more of him. Perhaps he can change McMahon's mind, although he should probably ditch the stupid headphones and ambulance siren theme song.

As a long-time WWE fan, I have always enjoyed watching men pretend to beat each other up while wearing spandex. Extra points for facepaint, none for tassels. I love all things sci-fi. If there's a 'Star' somewhere in the title, I'll probably dig it. I'm a huge football fan too. For my sins, I support Manchester United.
