8 Conclusions From WWE SmackDown (June 18)

1. Wyatt Isn't Scary

Creepy, yes, but scary? No. Certainly not scary enough for fans to buy the idea that Roman Reigns should be afraid of Wyatt in the same way that The Undertaker made faces and heels alike terrified throughout his tenure as the Deadman.

It's just as well that creepy rather than scary is exactly what WWE are going for, then. Wyatt interrupted the tag main event by appearing on the Titantron, distracting Reigns so Sheamus could nail him with the Brogue Kick. The New Face Of Fear (or should that be 'Freaky'?) once again held a photo of Reigns and his daughter. Creepy indeed.

Wherever WWE are going with this, they would do well to avoid bringing Reigns's daughter into the feud any more than they already have with the photo. Disturbing may be what they are going for with Wyatt, but to do any more would surely cross the line of taste and decency. The unspoken threat is enough, and they should just leave it at that.

As a long-time WWE fan, I have always enjoyed watching men pretend to beat each other up while wearing spandex. Extra points for facepaint, none for tassels. I love all things sci-fi. If there's a 'Star' somewhere in the title, I'll probably dig it. I'm a huge football fan too. For my sins, I support Manchester United.
