8 Live Observations From WWE Post-WrestleMania Monday Night Raw

WWE gets ready to leave Dallas as WrestleMania draws to a...Rhodes?

WrestleMania was WWE and all its ills over two wonderful (Night 1) and strange (Night 2) evenings.

The return of Cody Rhodes was life-affirming when it theoretically shouldn't have been. AEW have been a babyface promotion to many, but 'The American Nightmare' was increasingly feeling like a stranger in the organisation he helped create. More than just the usual co-opted journalist accounts were implying that Cody had come "home", such was the emotion around his comeback.

The return and final (?) match for Stone Cold Steve Austin was an improbable success story in the face of an intentionally vague build. WWE kept it all that way to maximise the success of the surprise, and in that off way they so rarely master, all was well.

What could possibly, go wrong then?

The Raw-After-WrestleMania had seemingly just forgotten how to make this a normal wrestling show, let alone one of the busiest shows of the year. WWE had what remained of the global fanbase captive for one more evening, but exacrty how would they use them? And how would it all finally appear on screen?

8. Veer COMES!

…and he beats the sh*t out of The Mysterios?!

A quick squash for Miz was extremely perplexing until Veer’s music hit and the Dallas crowd legitimately lost their collective sh*t for a minute or so.

But, let’s not take the p*ss. That was all it was.

WWE at very least knew they'd stumbled a*se first into a meme when they announced that Veer was finally set to debut on the post-WrestleMania edition of Monday Night Raw, but this milquetoast payoff to the whole thing left a lot to be desired.

Jinder Mahal's former heavy was drafted in October, but had yet to make a single appearance on the red brand before tonight's historically significant edition of the show.

That, and the word “come” (you know, like semen out of his penis) had made this one of the weirder phenomenons in the entire company. This was one of the weirder moments on the post-WrestleMania Monday Night Raw.

Mission a-COME(!)-plished?
