This isn’t really a record-breaker, but it really needs to be noted here as one of the most significant records set this year: The men’s Royal Rumble marked the first time in the match’s 35-year history that #1 and #30 entrants were the final two wrestlers left in the match.

Never before has the first and last person into a Rumble been there at the end like what we saw with Gunther and Cody Rhodes. We’ve seen #1 and #30 in the Rumble at the same time before, but the last two? Never. The closest we ever came was 2016, when Roman Reigns (#1) and Triple H (#30) were among the final three.

It’s a really cool feat that we’d never seen before in 35 years, which is just proof that there are still strange and wonderful records that can be set, even after all these years.
