8 One-Time WWE Champions Who Deserved A Second Reign
8. Booker T
Booker may have been a five time, five time, five time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, but he only held the big gold belt once while on the books in WWE. Newly crowned King (of the ring) Booker rolled over Rey Mysterio at the 2006 Great American Bash in July, capturing his first and only WWE Heavyweight Title. The Houston, Texas native was an absolute riot as the robe-wearing, pinky-waving King Bookah (take notes, Mr. Barrett). One of the best workers on Smackdown and a respected veteran to boot, nobody was complaining when he won the title. He fit the role. Besides, most felt Booker was ready to carry the title in 2003, before Triple H torpedoed his push. Booker held the WWE World Heavyweight Title until the Survivor Series in November, dropping it to Batista (whom Booker infamously fought with for real backstage in May). Booker never really received another shot at the title, drifting into the midcard and feuding with the likes of Kane by the time 2007 rolled around. He would leave the company in October, after failing a second WWE drug test and being suspended for sixty days. Really, considering how great King Booker was during his 2006 reign, he should have been a mainstay in the Heavyweight Title picture.
