8 Reasons Daniel Bryan Shouldn't Be Part Of WrestleMania's Main Event

Unlike last year, Daniel Bryan doesn't belong in the title match at Wrestlemania.

Fans of the wrestling world, we once again find ourselves faced with a giant question mark hanging over Wrestlemania. Following the questionable Royal Rumble match, the main event in March looked like it was going to be Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns. Probably not everyones first choice, but those are the cards we were dealt. However, the fan backlash has been so severe that WWE has been forced to address it (anyone else getting deja vu?) and now at Fast Lane, we have a match between Daniel Bryan vs Reigns with the title shot at 'Mania on the line. As well as this, rumours have been circulating around the internet non-stop, indicating that Bryan will be added to the main event regardless of Fast Lane's outcome. This is not a good thing. Don't misunderstand, this is not a slight against Daniel Bryan. He's a fantastic performer and a bonafide main eventer, and he definitely belongs in the title picture. But this is not about Daniel Bryan, this is about the bigger Wrestlemania picture, and the WWE's connection with their fans as a whole. Joss Whedon once said about writing for his fanbase "what people want is not necessarily what they need", and as much as many fans would like to see Bryan holding the gold again, forcing him into the main event in such a hamhanded fashion does nobody any favours, not him, not Reigns, not Lesnar and especially not the fans. Here are eight reasons why Daniel Bryan should not be anywhere near the Wrestlemania title match.
