CM Punk had many fantastic matches during his eight-year stint in World Wrestling Entertainment, including memorable battles against Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar, and Jeff Hardy. His defining moment in the company came against the man that many would consider the anti-Punk, our dear John Cena. It also happens to be Cena's best match to date.

We all know the story by now: CM Punk's contract was up, and he was going to beat Cena at Money in the Bank (coincidentally in his home town of Chicago) and leave the company with its most prestigious title. If this happened, Vince McMahon promised to fire Cena, although history tells us that John Cena being fired means John Cena being on TV more than usual.

The match itself? Five stars, all day long. There simply hadn't been a crowd like that in WWE since the aforementioned RVD match in 2006, but the difference here is that this was an entire arena united against Cena.

From start to finish Punk and Cena put together an all-time classic, climaxing with Cena opposing McMahon's attempt at a screwball finish and walking into a GTS. Punk picked up the win, blew a kiss McMahon's way and was gone. It was the best match of Punk's WWE career.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
