8 Things WWE Got Wrong At Royal Rumble 2016

5. The League Of Nations Attack Roman Reigns

Speaking of Rusev, it wasn't long before he was back out with his chums in the League of Nations putting the boots to Roman Reigns. The Bulgarian Brute would then splash Reigns through a table, leading to Roman getting the stretcher treatment. I've no problem with outside interference and beatdowns making up parts of the Royal Rumble, but the lack of logic here was astonishing. The attack itself? Fine, absolutely fine. Vince McMahon was on hand to oversee it all, giving a legitimacy to it and covering up any question of legality. What made no sense was that they just left Roman on a broken table to get taken out. Vince McMahon, the evil genius, a man who once went so far as to change the end of a Championship match on live pay-per-view so as to safeguard himself, was fine with Roman still legally being in the match. Of course, story is story, but this made no sense. It did little to endear Roman to the crowd too, as shown by the joy in the face of the chap in the photo above.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
