The Rock dipped into his bag of jokes for a promo with Busta Rhymes ahead of Vengeance's Triple Threat match for the WWE Undisputed Championship, but all of his words ceased to mean anything when the bell rang and the allure of gold set in. Sharing the squared circle with the legendary Phenom and one of its greatest in-ring performers, Rock faced a considerable test.

Add to that time away from the ring due to film shoots plus the tricky Triple Threat stipulation, and you have a recipe for disaster.

The three future Hall of Fame shoe-ins went above beyond expectation with what was at the time perhaps the greatest three-way match in WWE history. Rock was particularly strong, barely missing a beat as he and his opponents cut a frenetic pace. They packed as much action into a 20-minute time frame as imaginable, leaving no time for the crowd heat to die down. In the end, a Rock Bottom to Angle scored The Great One his latest championship.
