The Royal Rumble match is an incredible opportunity for all involved. Whilst the field of 30 is usually easy to whittle down to two or three potential winners, in canon everyone has a chance at victory. Therefore you would assume that all competitors would do all that they possibly could to avoid being eliminated.

On a select few occasions however, competitors have stooped to new levels of foolishness and managed to eliminate themselves from the Royal Rumble. Whether through cowardice or passion, these men flung themselves over the top rope and down to the floor, in a match where the only real objective is to avoid that very happening. It takes a lot of ability to achieve the only thing you are supposed to avoid.

From Andre the Giant to Montel Vontavious Porter via Drew Carey, here are the eight men who have eliminated themselves from the Royal Rumble.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
