8 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (20 March - Review)

DOWNS…

5. There Goes The Post-Mania Challenger

When Piper Niven returned to Raw under her old moniker and started just winning matches, it felt like Triple H was doing a slow burn rebuild of the former Doudrop, molding her into a potential post-WrestleMania challenger for the Raw Women’s Champion, whomever that might be.

And then Monday happened.

Niven filled in for Carmella in a tag match pitting her and Chelsea Green against Asuka & Bianca Belair. Given that Green is a comedy character, logic would dictate that she eats the pinfall perhaps even with the substitute Piper walking out in disgust or laying Chelsea out for losing to retain some fire.

Nope. Instead, it was Belair hitting an impressive KOD on Niven, pinning her clean in a tag match where the opponents weren’t on the same page. Just like that, you’ve lost an easy monster for Bianca (should she retain) to slay in the weeks after Mania, which would have been a gimmie.

Remind us again how this is different than Raw under Vince McMahon’s thumb?
