Despite the majority of HBK's transgressions taking place during his notorious younger years and before his conversion to Christianity, Michaels still managed to piss some of his fellow talents off after returning to WWE in 2002.

The Hurricane Shane Helms is one of the most notable of those who engaged in a public feud with Michaels after his spiritual rebirth. On his podcast, Helms called Michaels his least favourite wrestler due to his backstage politicking and went as far to suggest that HBK was still just as egotistical and immature as he had previously been and that his conversion was nothing but a work.

Helms would also later explain that part of his dislike of Michaels came from how Shawn would make disparaging remarks about some of his fellow superstars in earshot of the creative team knowing the weight his words carried.

Despite the inflammatory comments, the pair have since reconciled, with Helms stating last year that he and Michaels had squashed their beef during a meeting at the WWE Performance Center.
