It's incredible to think that a larger-than-life character like Roberts, having cultivated one of the wrestling industry's most enduring legacies, never held a title during his time with WWE.
It kind of makes sense, though, when you think about it. Roberts was a brooding so-and-so who always seemed to be less concerned with getting his hands on championship gold than he was with getting inside the minds of his opponents. And who needs a belt when you have a snake, anyway?
Roberts certainly deserved to hold a title - if not the big one then at least the Intercontinental Championship - but the fact that he didn't doesn't really detract from his career. It's intense feuds, chilling promos, and one of wrestling's all-time great gimmicks that we'll remember him for, and many of his contemporaries - more prolific in terms of wins, granted - would have killed for his career.
