8 Wrestling Title Reigns That Officially Never Happened

3. The Rockers WWF Tag Team Championship Win

Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty are among the most popular and influential tag teams in wrestling history. However, unfortunately for them, they happened to be around during the heyday of the Hart Foundation, Legion of Doom, and Demolition, three dominant teams. That doesn't necessarily mean the Rockers didn't win the WWF Tag Team titles, but they certainly aren't recognized for it. On October 30, 1990, the Rockers defeated championsThe Hart Foundation at a television taping for the titles. However, during the course of the two-out-of-three-falls contest, the top rope broke. The competitors attempted to stall, and have a ring crew repair the issue, but the ring crew didn't arrive. The teams finished the match, but the WWF told the Rockers they couldn't air the match due to the break of the rope. On November 3 the titles were returned to the Hart Foundation.
Michaels speculated that the Hart Foundation had politicked in order to keep the titles, while others say that Hart Foundation member Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart had a contract dispute in which was solved after the match, causing the decision.
