Of the 16 title matches inside the chamber, nearly half – seven – of them have resulted in a champ losing his title. Twice a title has been vacant (World Heavyweight Championship in 2005, Intercontinental Championship in 2015), meaning new champs have been crowned in nine of 16 chamber matches.
And one of the successful title defenses – John Cena in 2006 – quickly gave way to Edge cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and winning the WWE Championship. So nearly two-thirds of the time that a title has been on the line, the champ hasn’t left the PPV with the belt in hand.
