9 Best Supernatural WWE Gimmicks

1. The Undertaker

Of course. Who else is going to end up in the top spot when we're talking about otherworldly superstars? No other wrestler in history has meandered their way through every conceivable offshoot of the supernatural gimmick - save for maybe a gremlin or troll gimmick, but hey, there's still time - like The Undertaker.

The Undertaker debuted decked out in a black overcoat and a stetson hat, wearing gray leather gloves and purple makeup under his eyes. Presented as a mortician, the Undertaker was initially just a really creepy, very tall man who possessed the uncanny ability to go from a prone position to a sitting position in a flash. (Which is admittedly much scarier to watch than it is to describe it.) This was attributed to the contents of the urn his manager, Paul Bearer, carried with him at ringside.

Over the years, The Undertaker "died" multiple times, always being reborn as something even scarier than his previous incarnation. After he lost a Casket Match, he ascended to the heavens and came back as The Dead Man. Then he lost a Buried Alive Match and died again somehow, being reborn a short time later as The Lord of Darkness. And then he formed The Ministry of Darkness, which turned him into a satanic worshipping cult leader.

Though he took some time off from his otherworldly ways as The American Badass and Big Evil, he'd quickly return to the dark side as The Phenom, and later mixing his human and superhuman sides into The Last Outlaw.

It doesn't matter the nickname he's been given, or the amount of lightning he shoots from his fingertips, though, because no one has been as consistently frightening as The Undertaker.
